Always for sale
Denis Suarez has hit out at Barcelona and their transfer policy, and claimed he always feels like he could be for sale.
The player admitted that while there have been some links between himself and other clubs, they have not come from him, and he feels that he has made that very clear to the club, his agent and his suitors.
There were of course links with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side, but he’s made it clear that is not the case, and he just wants to do well at the Catalan side.
“I feel that whatever I do, I am always on the market,” he explained in an interview with Mundo Deportivo.
“I do not want to leave Barcelona, I’ve said that for a long time.
“I want to succeed here, I have rejected a proposal to leave and the rumours aren’t coming from me.
“I haven’t talked to anyone at the club about these matters.
“I haven’t asked my agent to put this out there and I’ve never said I want to leave.”
His namesake Luis isn’t having the best of times this season either, with injury issues curtailing his brilliant form, and while there is no chance Luis Suarez will be going anywhere, with the full backing from the manager, board and Lionel Messi despite his struggles this season, he has certainly made his frustrations clear.
Suarez will be hoping that the goals do return, and that his fitness issues will start to clear themselves up, but so far this season he knows the performances on his part have not been good enough – and that Lionel Messi has certainly made up for some of his failings in terms of what he’s done for the team – and when the games get tougher and the Champions League knockout stages kick in, he will need to be back to his best.
