Pep Guardiola reveals Man Citys top priority this season
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has claimed the number one target for his side this season is the Premier League.
That’s despite his side also being favourites for the Champions League – and miles ahead of the chasing pack in the Premier League.
He said to Sky Sports: “The fact is we are fighting for the most important title of the season by far.
“The Premier League – more than Champions League, more than FA Cup, more than Carabao Cup – is enough argument to be focused and to stay focused because our next six fixtures are terrible in terms of the quality of the opponents.
“We have four games away and of course we are in a good position but it is not done.
“We have still to win six games and when you think about Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester United and our away games like Stoke, who are playing to avoid relegation.
“We are also going to Goodison Park [to face Everton], which statistically is always a tough game. We still have a lot of tough games to play.”
The Champions League might be something that Manchester United and City are looking for this season – and while United are worrying about their progression prospects after their 0-0 draw in Sevilla, it seems that City are basically though to the next round, with their huge win and convincing performance – and with PSG looking at going out against Real Madrid and doing it without Neymar to boot, it seems that City are seeing their top class opponents eliminated.
