Man United vs CSKA Moscow
Jose Mourinho’s Man United take on CSKA Moscow in the Champions League on Tuesday night at Old Trafford.
Despite leading Group A on 12 points, United have not yet mathematically qualified for the round of 16. A draw would be enough for the Red Devils to top the group.
If Basel fail to beat Benfica in the group’s other match, United would qualify regardless of their own result.
Where is Marcos Rojo?
In the past few weeks, Argentine international defender Marcos Rojo has made his long awaited comeback from injury.
Rojo suffered significant knee ligament damage in last season’s Europa League match against Anderlecht.
Rojo has played 90 minutes in Man United’s last two Premier League matches at Watford and Arsenal.
But, according to reports in the Manchester Evening News on Tuesday, the South American is unlikely to be involved against the Russians.
As reported on the MEN website, Rojo was nowhere to be seen when the squad met up on Tuesday lunchtime:
United are expected to rest David de Gea and Marcos Rojo ahead of the Champiopns League tie with CSKA Moscow tonight.
Rojo was not spotted by M.E.N. photographers when the Reds rendezvoused at The Lowry this morning and may be rested after starting three of the last four fixtures.
Jose Mourinho has already confirmed Sergio Romero will deputise for de Gea.
With the Manchester derby coming up next weekend against Man City, Mourinho is likely to rotate his squad against CSKA.
