MANCHESTER CITY are ready to swoop for Leicester ace Riyad Mahrez after Lionel Messi blocked him from joining Barcelona.
That’s according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon who the Argentine superstar didn’t want him at the Nou Camp.
It’s suggested the 30-year-old was concerned Mahrez would have too much influence over Barca’s style of play.
Don Balon reckon Messi’s interference has now opened the door for a move to City.
Pep Guardiola is reportedly a huge admirer of the Algeria international.
And the Catalan chief believes Mahrez could offer an alternative option on the right flank or be used as an impact substitute.
Mahrez is reportedly keen to leave the King Power Stadium.
