A Jeezy Album in December. Perfect

Snowman season returns with ‘Pressure’

After the year we’ve had, it’s only right that it end with some poetic justice. How’s an album from The Snowman in December?

What’s been a relatively quiet year from Jeezy will get significantly louder on Dec. 15, when his upcoming new album, Pressure, is released. The Atlanta star made the announcement on Twitter yesterday via a brief preview, teasing new music. Hope your speakers have bass in ’em.

Pressure is Jeezy’s eighth studio album, and his fourth in as many years, following 2016’s completion of his heralded Trap or Dietrilogy, Trap or Die 3.  In October, he released two tracks, “Bottles Up” and “Cold Summer” featuring Diddy and Tee Grizzley, respectively, but it’s unclear whether either will appear on Pressure.

(Frankly, the resounding and crashing horns in the preview blows both of those songs out of the water. Whew.)

It’ll be interesting to see where Snowman takes this album, as his last three have all been conceptual. 2014’s Seen It All was Jeezy’s memoir, the exorcism of demons past, while 2015’s Church In the Streetssought to spread that theme of personal and spiritual freedom to those that need it. Last year’s Trap Or Die 3 found Jeezy relapsing into his younger self, completing the Trap or Die trilogy that helped usher him to stardom. Pressure, though ambiguously titled, could wind up meaning something very specific.

For now, watch the album’s trailer above, and pre-order it here.
