Luis Suarez discusses Neymar
Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has today revealed his opinion that former Blaugrana teammate and current PSG star Neymar would never join Real Madrid.
Following months of speculation surrounding his future, Brazilian attacker Neymar finally made the move from Barcelona to French giants Paris Saint-Germain in August, for a world-record fee of 222 million Euro.
The South American’s move has since resulted in an air of bitterness between he and his former employers, with both parties having exchanged a number of public insults since the transfer’s announcement.
Neymar has taken aim at the board in Catalonia, claiming that a great club like Barcelona deserve better than the much-criticised Josep Bartomeu, while Bartomeu himself has hit back at the 25-year-old by insisting that he should have never trusted the former Santos star and his father.
The broken relationship between the two parties, coupled with rumours that Neymar is growing increasingly frustrated with PSG boss Unai Emery and some of his teammates in the French capital, have led to surprising, yet persistent rumours that the future Ballon-D’Or winner could join Barca’s fierce rivals Real Madrid.
The player himself has since moved to play down the links, but reports in Spain continue to circulate that yet another world-record breaking deal involving the Brazilian could be on the horizon.
Speaking in an interview with Marca earlier today, Luis Suarez, who formed one of the most lethal attacking tridents in the history of football alongside Neymar and Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou, was questioned on whether he thinks his former teammate would consider a move to Real:
‘Not at all. Honestly, I don’t see it. I know what Neymar is like and the admiration he had for Barcelona and his teammates. I don’t see him now going to play for Real Madrid.’
