Barcelona call Philippe Coutinho
Liverpool 7 – Spartak Moscow 0
For the second time this season in the Champions League Liverpool scored seven goals in a game.
The Reds hadn’t sealed their qualification for the last-16 of the UCL before their match with Spartak Moscow on Wednesday night.
But Liverpool progressed to the knockout phase in style, scoring seven past the Russians.
Philippe Coutinho was the star of the show for the Reds as the Brazilian scored a hat-trick at Anfield.
‘Barcelona calling Philippe Coutinho’
Coutinho is in incredible form for Liverpool right now both in the Premier League and in Europe.
Is that because he’s encouraging Barcelona to make a move this January?
As everyone knows, Barcelona tried to sign Coutinho last summer while the player was keen on a switch to the Camp Nou.
Rumours of a possible deal have failed to disappear in the proceeding months, while the Spanish press have been pushing the potential transfer in recent weeks.
After the Spartak game, Coutinho spoke to Jamie Carragher and Jan Aage Fjortoft.
During the conversation Carragher’s phone started to ring, which provoked Fjortoft to joke about “Barcelona calling”.
Carragher immediately slapped down thoughts of Coutinho leaving Liverpool as the pundit demanded the South American stay put.
Coutinho, meanwhile, laughed as the Barcelona chat was going on.
